The Lark Ascending

The lark takes off. Frogs dance in the rain. The vast fields form a tapestry of sound. Everything begins with the music of Ralph Vaughan Williams’s The Lark Ascending. This (ongoing) interdisciplinary project is an interplay between sound and paint. Harpist and illustrator are one person. The paintbrush dances to the rhythm of the music that plays under the mischievous gaze of the frog. Does the music respond to the bird or the bird to the music?
